Content and Scope: The local branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People played a significant role in furthering the rights and opportunities of minorities, primarily blacks, in Providence. Memorabilia, personal and official documents, and pieces of correspondence, especially numerous from the 1960s and 1970s, highlight services undertaken to further the goals of the NAACP in Rhode Island's metropolitan center.
