Content and Scope: In 1944 the Democratic National Committee asked John Lyons Moore to assist in the Roosevelt reelection campaign. While serving the Committee over the next 20 years in various capacities, Moore (1903-1969) and his wife, Marian (Gilmore), collected pieces relating to national and state politics, including a wide assortment of memorabilia and private correspondence between party officials and approximately 200 prominent Democrats of the 1930s-1970's. Record groups are as follows: Correspondence, Elections, Dinners, National Conventions, Photographs, Presidential Inaugurations, Subjects and Democratic Digest.
