Content and Scope: Edward "Rip" Higgins (1894-1979) exerted considerable political influence during his 30 years as trusted adviser and assistant to Theodore Francis Green (Rhode Island Governor, 1933-1936, and U.S. Senator, 1937-1960). This Collection of Higgins' personal papers aids in understanding Senator Green's long career in Washington and the development of Rhode Island political history, especially during the 1930s. The Collection also includes pictures, books, tapes and clippings. (not yet processed)
