Content and Scope: Material on the Blackfriars' Guild, a Catholic experimental theater group founded in 1937, is divided into categories dealing with the organization as a whole and with individual chapters. The records of the New York Chapter, which operated from 1940 to 1972, consisting of applications, theater history, playbills, scripts, pictures and reviews for virtually every production, constitute by far the largest part of the Collection.
