The library has an automated system for circulation, cataloging, acquisitions, and serials. The library is a member of the Higher Education Library Information Network (HELIN), which includes the libraries at Brown University, Bryant College, the Community College of Rhode Island, Johnson & Wales University, Rhode Island College, Roger Williams University, Salve Regina University, and the University of Rhode Island.

Anyone using the HELIN online catalog will find materials owned by eight of the nine HELIN libraries (Brown University's collection is not reflected in the HELIN online catalog). This catalog is located at: http://library.uri.edu
