Providence College offers students who are either pursuing or have completed a masters degree in special education the opportunity to obtain a state endorsement as a Director of Special Education.
The three course endorsement requires students to complete the courses, Edu 504, Supervision-Personnel Problems in Education, Edu 532, Curriculum Design and Construction and Edu 567, Administration and Supervision of Special Education Services.

Certificate Program in Middle-Level Education
Providence College's Graduate Education Program offers students who have taken the required academic courses the opportunity to earn a state endorsement to teach in grades 5-8.
The middle level endorsement program gives teachers the knowledge and experiences necessary to design and implement instructional programs that will provide the middle-level student with a supportive learning environment. Candidates take courses that prepare them to function as a member of an interdisciplinary team, utilize standard-based instruction, and design organizational and grouping strategies that meet the needs of middle-level students.
The required courses are:
EDU 581 Middle School Curriculum
EDU 595 Methods & Materials of Teaching in Middle School
EDU 596 The Psychology of the Middle School Student
EDU 788 Middle School Student Teaching (5 weeks)
