Providence College’s academic approach and liberal arts curriculum are shaped and strengthened by more than seven centuries of Catholic Dominican scholarship and spirituality. This education embraces the whole person – stimulating the intellectual, spiritual, moral, aesthetic, and social development of each student.

Providence College students acquire knowledge and skills that stand the test of time in any professional or civic setting: the ability to reason well, to examine sources critically, to reconcile opposing points of view, to seek and respect the truth, to appreciate beauty and human expression, to write and speak effectively.

In January 2009, Providence College introduced a new organizational structure for undergraduate and graduate programs in the humanities, the sciences, and areas of professional study. The new School of Arts & Sciences and the School of Professional Studies join the School of Business and the School of Continuing Education as administrative components of Providence College.
