ACADEMIC AFFAIRS
MISSION STATEMENT

The Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs oversees academic programs, instruction, student admission and retention, faculty appointment and development, and academic support services. In executing its responsibility, the Office promotes academic and service excellence; provides effective support for faculty and staff; and maintains the appropriate physical environment in which to conduct the instructional and research programs of the College.

Critical to all activities in Academic Affairs is the preservation and continued development of the liberal arts tradition within the Roman Catholic and Dominican tradition of the College. This is a tradition that sees the ultimate goal of education in contemplative wisdom, an education that is: intellectually probing, ethically centered, socially and morally aware, broad-ranging in its study of the liberal arts, and respectful of human diversity and experience.
