PC to Stage Romeo and Juliet Performances

Providence, R.I.--The Providence College Department of Theatre, Dance, and Film will begin its 2009-2010 drama schedule with six performances of Romeo and Juliet. Performances will be held in the Angell Blackfriars Theatre in the Smith Center for the Arts and are open to the public.

The first three shows will run from October 30 to November 1 with another three running the following weekend of November 6-8. Each Friday and Saturday performance will begin at 8:00 p.m. and the two Sunday shows start at 2:00 p.m.

The PC version of the venerable William Shakespeare tragedy will be directed by John P. Garrity, associate professor of theatre arts and managing director of the Angell Blackfriars Theatre.

Tickets are available now at a price of $11 for adults, $8 for senior citizens, and $5 for students at the box office in the Smith Center. The box office is open Monday through Friday from 1:30-5:00 p.m. and one hour before each performance. Tickets also may be ordered by calling 401-865-2218.
