Wind-Energy Executive, President of Public Relations Firm Speak Next Week

Providence, R.I.--Paul Rich, chief development officer of Deepwater Wind Rhode Island, and Jon Duffy, president of Duffy & Shanley, will speak at Providence College's next Leaders on Leadership presentation on Thursday, October 22.

Rich oversees two wind farm projects that Deepwater is proposing to build off the coast of Rhode Island. He has extensive experience in the energy industry, most recently as chief development officer of CCH Holdings Group. Among other professional accomplishments, Rich served on the staff of former U.S. Rep. Tom Allen (D-Maine) and spent 11 years in the United States Navy, where he earned two Navy Commendation medals.

Duffy has helped Providence-based Duffy & Shanley build a national reputation as a leading synchronized marketing communications firm. As president, he leads the agency's efforts in progressive marketing initiatives and oversees public relations, sports marketing, and interactive marketing teams for clients such as Nike Golf, Staples, Foster Grant, and Swarovski.

Previously, Duffy was director of marketing for Westwood Sports Marketing Group and national accounts director at PSP Sports Marketing, both based in Los Angeles. At PSP, he developed sports marketing programs for Nike, Microsoft, Sony Playstation, Honda, and The Gap, among others.

Leaders on Leadership, a featured course in PC's MBA Program, takes place in Room LL12 of Harkins Hall, and the lectures begin at 6:00 p.m. They are open to the College community and the public on a space-available basis. Requests should be made to Katherine A. Follett, administrative coordinator, at (401) 865-2333 or kfollett@providence.edu.
