Class of 2004

They hail from Cranston and Johnston, Barrington and Narragansett. These four Rhode Island students - recipients of academic awards in their fields of study - offer a glimpse of the many career paths Providence College students may embark on with a liberal arts foundation and a hard-earned bachelor's degree in hand.

Michael Crawley - Johnston, RI
With a major in accountancy and a minor in mathematics, Michael earned a Bachelor of Science degree with Summa Cum Laude Honors and is the recipient of the award presented to the senior with the highest academic record in accountancy. He begins his career as an audit associate with Lefkowitz Garfinkel Champi & DeRienzo, CPA, and has enrolled in Providence College's MBA program. Michael pursued his undergraduate studies as a member of the College's Liberal Arts Honors program and was inducted into three honor societies: in business, mathematics and philosophy. He was active in intramural sports, served as vice president for the Accounting Association and was a member of the S.A.I.N.T.S., a residence life mentoring program.

Albert Marcello, III - Barrington, RI
Albert pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in philosophy and mathematics, and a minor in theology. Graduating with Summa Cum Laude honors, he received awards for achieving the highest academic record in both philosophy and mathematics. A member of the Liberal Arts Honors program, Albert was selected as the recipient of the 1st annual Lisska Book Prize. He has been accepted at the Pontifical North American College in Rome for a Licentiate in Sacred Theology and will continue on the path to become a diocesan priest.

Bridget McKenna - Narragansett, RI
A quantitative economics major with a minor in mathematics, Bridget graduates with a Bachelor of Arts degree earned with Magna Cum Laude honors and the highest academic average in her major field of study. She will relocate to New Jersey to begin her career as a risk analyst for Fidelity Investments. A member of the Liberal Arts Honors program, math honor society, and the Student-Athlete honor society, Bridget was captain of the women's swim team; and president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Board. Voted the swim team's Most Valuable Player (twice), Most Improved (twice), and Athlete of the Week (three times), she also served on the BIG EAST Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Stephanie Pietros - Cranston, RI
With a double major in English and music, Stephanie earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with Summa Cum Laude honors and was recognized for achieving the highest academic record in music. A member of the Liberal Arts Honors program, Stephanie wrote regularly for the Providence College student newspaper, The Cowl. She will pursue her love for writing and literature through the master's program in English at Fordham University.
