Directed by Dr. Michele M. Holt, assistant professor of music and director of choral activities at Providence College, fifty students and adults are expected to take part in the tour including Sister Gail P. Himrod, O.P., associate professor of music and department chair; David Harper, vocal instructor; College saxophone instructor Jennifer Bill '00, who will provide instrumental accompaniment; and organist Joan Cook. The group will tour from May 20 to June 2, 2004.
This will mark the third tour by a College choir to Europe. The first trip occurred in 2000, when 65 members of the Department of Music toured in Austria, Hungary, the Republic of Czechoslovakia, and Germany. Last year, the Liturgical Choir traveled to Italy, where it sang for several audiences, including Pope John Paul II.
