Rev. Thomas Blau, O.P. Named to Providence College's Chaplains' Staff

Providence, RI -- Rev. Thomas Blau, O.P. has been appointed to the chaplains' staff at the Providence College, joining Chaplain Rev. Brendan Murphy, O.P. and assistant chaplains Rev. Thomas J. Ertle, O.P. and Rev. John Paul Walker, O.P.  A native of Cleveland, Ohio, he began his duties effective with the start of the spring semester.

Father Blau comes to Providence College after serving for approximately five years as an assistant chaplain at the University of Virginia (UVa.) in Charlottesville and as an assistant pastor at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, the Catholic university parish at UVa.

Ordained to the priesthood in June 1999, Father Blau earned his master's degree in theology from the Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio. He later received his master's of divinity degree and licentiate in sacred theology (S.T.L.) from the Pontifical Faculty of the Immaculate Conception at the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D.C.
