How many tickets will each graduate receive for Commencement?
Graduates will receive five (5) guest tickets to commencement.  Tickets will be distributed at Cap & Gown Day on April 16th.

Due to space limitations at the Dunkin' Donuts Center, no student will be allowed more than the five-ticket allotment.  Families who may require additional guest tickts are encouraged to have their student check with roommates and friends as the first line of communication to secure additional tickets.  Many families do not use their allotment.

May additional tickets be requested?
A limited number of tickets will be available through a lottery system.  If you anticipate needing additional tickets, please submit your request to www.providence.edu/commencementlottery by April 1, 2008.  Requests received after April 1, 2008 will not be considered.  The maximum number of tickets that may be awarded to any one graduate in this lottery is two (2) additional tickets.  All winners will be notified by Monday, April 14, 2008 by email.  No phone calls please.

Does everyone in my guest party need a ticket?
All guests must have a ticket to attend commencement.  The formal invitation WILL NOT ADMIT GUESTS to the Dunkin' Donuts Center.

Is attendance mandatory at the Academic Awards Ceremony?
Graduates receiving honors or awards are expected to attend.  All graduates and their families are invited to attend.

Is attendance mandatory at the Commencement Mass?
All graduates are expected to attend this special ceremony at which representatives of the senior class are Invested, thus allowing all graduates to wear their academic attire.

How do I get to the Dunkin' Donuts Center?
The Dunkin' Donuts Center is located at 1 LaSalle Square, Providence, RI 02903.  For directions, please contact the DDC at 401-331-6700 or visit their Web site at http://www.dunkindonutscenter.com

What time should we arrive at the Dunkin' Donuts Center?
Doors open at 9:00 am.  All guests must be seated prior to the start of the procession, which begins promptly at 10:30 am.

Where should we park?
Event parking for the Commencement ceremony is available at various privately-owned lots around the city as well as in the garage adjacent to the Dunkin' Donuts Center.  For a complete map of available parking locations, please visit the DDC Web site at www.dunkindonutscenter.com/directions.html

Providence College Security will direct you to parking for all on-campus events during Commencement weekend.

How long does the Commencement ceremony last?
The ceremony generally concludes by 1:30 pm.

If you are planning any post-Commencement family celebrations, we generally recommend a one-hour timeframe between the conclusion of Commencement and any dinner reservations to allow all guests to exit the Dunkin' Donuts Center and the surrounding downtown area.

Which side of the Dunkin' Donuts Center is best for viewing graduates?
Unfortunately, you won't know until the morning of graduation, since candidates for B.A. and B.S. degrees sit on both sides of the Dunkin' Donuts Center floor.

Are refreshments available at the Dunkin' Donuts Center?
Yes, light refreshments (breakfast pastries, coffee, juice, soda) will be available for purchase at various vending areas prior to the ceremony.  Please refrain from eating and/or drinking in the main arena during the ceremony.

Where should we meet our graduate after the ceremony?
It is best to plan on joining your PC student outside the Dunkin' Donuts Center at a predetermined meeting spot.  Parents and families will not be allowed access to the lower level of the arena following the ceremony.
