The slate of officers of the Providence College Alumni Association Board of Governors has been announced for the 2005-06 academic year. The alumni association comprises more than 41,000 members.
Charles M. Borkoski ’71 of Barrington, R.I. [right], who was board vice president this past year, moves up to president. The vice president of marketing for McLaughlin & Moran, Inc., of Cranston, R.I., where he has been employed since 1979, Borkoski is a former president of the Greater Providence Chapter of the PC Alumni Association, the Mal Brown Club, as well as a former chair of the PC Annual Fund.
The other board members were elected by active members of the alumni association in a national mail-in ballot conducted in May and June. They are:

Kathleen A. Ryan, Esq. ’87 of Cumberland, R.I., who will serve as vice president and who will succeed to the presidency during 2006-07.

Ken Richardson ’75 of Providence, R.I., who was elected treasurer.

COL Herbert R. Waters III ’79 of Middletown, R.I., who will serve as secretary to the board.

David J. Syner, C.P.A. ’71 of Cranston, R.I., who will complete his final term on the board and will serve as immediate past president.
Newly elected to three-year terms as members of the board of directors are Peter Bortolan ’60 of South Windsor, Conn.; David R. Meegan, Esq. ’70 of North Kingstown, R.I.; Diane Sanfilippo Feeny ’85 of Marlton, N.J.; and Shannon O’Brien ’01 of Bridgewater, Mass.
Appointed to the board as area representatives are Ralph Solmonese ’58 of East Greenwich, R.I.; Andy Robinson ’71 of Narragansett, R.I.; Mary-Ellen Sposato Rogers ’77 of Wethersfield, Conn.; John Burke ’88 of Merrick, N.Y.; Sean Semple ’89 of Belmar, N.J.; Jennifer Perrault ’01 of Providence, R.I.; and Stephen Muzrall ’02 of Foxboro, Mass.
Returning in previously elected board positions are Joseph V. DeStefano ’52 of Providence, R.I.; John Ricottilli ’54 of Boca Raton, Fla.; David E. Donnelly Sr. ’63 of North Kingstown, R.I.; Robert Tobiasz ’67 of Seekonk, Mass.; Maureen Davenport Corcoran ’79 of Chestnut Hill, Mass.; Jennifer MacCallum O’Meara ’93 of Whitinsville, Mass.; Mark Gasbarro ’97 of Providence, R.I.; and Lori Crowshaw ’02SCE of Riverside, R.I., who will represent the School of Continuing Education.
Sharon Roveda Kennedy ’83 of North Attleboro, Mass., will serve as a board member and will represent the Women’s Involvement Network. Eva Weston Irby ’75 of Providence, R.I., will represent the Black Alumni Committee.
