Ferreira named acting vice president for institutional advancement

Robert Ferreira, Jr. ’83, executive director of alumni relations, was named acting vice president for institutional advancement by College President Rev. Brian J. Shanley, O.P. '80 on October 27. Ferreira assumes all of the responsibilities of the position, including oversight of the College’s alumni relations programming and fundraising initiatives. He succeeds William G. Eustis, who resigned his position to pursue other opportunities.

“Bob Ferreira is well known to the College’s alumni and other donors and admired for his work ethic,” said Father Shanley in announcing the interim appointment. “He will be working collaboratively with other members of the Office of Institutional Advancement leadership team to advance our fundraising efforts.”

Father Shanley also thanked Eustis for his service to the College and noted that, during his time as vice president, “the College has achieved success in reaching out to new donors and gaining financial commitments in support of its mission.” Eustis had served as vice president since January 2004.

Ferreira, who has worked in alumni relations programs at PC for some 13 years, initially joined the College in 1985 as an alumni activities coordinator and went on to become associate director of alumni/development before leaving in 1993. He returned to PC in 2000 as assistant director of alumni/development and soon after was named director and later executive director. Among his various responsibilities is oversight for the College’s popular homecoming and reunion weekends and awards dinners.

Father Shanley also announced that he is forming a vice president search committee and retaining a professional search firm with particular expertise in higher education advancement to identify a permanent successor for the position.
