Alumni Admission Associates program seeks volunteers

As president and CEO of FBT Investments in New Orleans, La., Leonard Alsfeld ’74 knows all about finding people opportunities for a brighter, richer future. As an associate in the Alumni Admission Associates program, he does the same thing, but now he is encouraging high school students to invest in the limitless value of a Providence College education.

Alsfeld is a member of a growing team of alumni who volunteer their time to represent and promote PC by attending college fairs in the areas where they live. The Office of Admission is currently recruiting additional alumni to serve as associates.

“When you guide a high school student to the gates of Providence College,” said Alsfeld, “you develop a lifetime bond with the new Friar as you watch them develop a new perspective on life, community, volunteerism, and God.”

At college fairs, the alumni associates share their PC story, general information about the school, and represent PC in a positive light.

“We participate in college fairs all over the country and throughout the world, so all alumni are encouraged to get involved,” said Daniel Richer ’01, senior admission counselor.

The Office of Admission will send college fair materials, including PC brochures and contact information, a school banner, and prospective student inquiry cards, directly to the fair location.

“We believe that in addition to being a Dominican, liberal arts institution, it is the community at Providence College that makes it a great school,” said Kristin O’Callahan ’02, senior admission counselor. “The people make this place and we love to have our alumni representing PC, sharing their story and their memories with the future of PC.”
