The College’s development work begins the 2007-08 academic year with two new leaders in the Office of Institutional Advancement. Lisa M. Sabatini Bousquet ’86 and Seth M. Klaiman were appointed in July as assistant vice president for development and as director of major gifts, respectively.
The former deputy director for institutional advancement at the Rhode Island Zoological Society, Roger Williams Park Zoo, in Providence, Bousquet will provide strategic direction and manage the College’s development team, including major gifts, annual giving, corporations and foundations, and planned giving.
"Lisa has demonstrated a track record in leadership and fundraising. She will bring focus and structure to our development efforts in several key areas," said Edward Chiu, associate vice president for institutional advancement.
At Roger Williams Park Zoo, Bousquet was responsible for all marketing and development efforts, membership and donor cultivation, and branding and communication strategies.
"I believe the need for a community like PC has never been greater," said Bousquet. "As a member of the advancement office, I have the opportunity to provide the College with the support and resources needed to ensure that future generations will embrace this community as I did as a freshman here 25 years ago."
Bousquet graduated magna cum laude, majoring in biology and chemistry.
Klaiman was formerly chief philanthropy officer and director of major gifts at Rhode Island Hospital/Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence. Chiu said Klaiman will manage the major gifts team in building relationships with alumni, prospects, and existing donors.
"Seth will work with our team to solicit leadership gifts to help transform the College," said Chiu. "He brings more than 12 years experience in philanthropy from health care, political, theatrical, and social service organizations."
At Rhode Island Hospital, where he worked since 2003, Klaiman was responsible for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gifts prospects.
"My goal is to do everything I can in leading a team to open more areas of opportunity and to expand possibilities for current students and for students coming in to Providence College," said Klaiman.
