Contributions to the College’s Annual Fund will be accepted through June 30 for this fiscal year. The fund provides operating revenue that directly benefits the students, faculty, and programs of the College. From financial aid and faculty salaries, to library books, computer supplies, and the maintenance of buildings and grounds, the Annual Fund helps to underwrite every aspect of a Providence College education.
“A strong Annual Fund program secures the unrestricted resources necessary for Father Shanley [College President Rev. Brian J. Shanley, O.P. ’80] to implement strategic plans and to move forward with his vision,” said Amy Bostock Laprey, director of annual giving in the Office of Institutional Advancement.
This year, Laprey said that alumni, parents, and friends are being asked to “take part in the wave of support” that has been shown for Father Shanley by making a contribution to the Annual Fund. He assumed office as PC’s 12th president on July 1, 2005.
“It is only with a strong Annual Fund that we can ensure that immediate and continuing progress is made. By supporting the Annual Fund, alumni and parents actively support the teaching and learning experiences that continue to engage and transform young men and women. Now is the ideal time to support Father Shanley and his commitment to advancing the College’s identity as a strong academic institution reflecting its Dominican foundation,” Laprey added.
There are a number of ways to give to the Annual Fund. The easiest way is to go to the Annual Fund Web page. Checks, made out to Providence College Annual Fund, also may be mailed to the College in care of the Office of Institutional Advancement, 549 River Ave., Providence, RI 02918-0001. To make a donation by phone, call the office at (401) 865-1295.
“The Annual Fund is the foundation of the College,” said Laprey. “We hope alumni, parents, and friends will make it the cornerstone of their philanthropy to Providence.”
