Alumni offered discount at annual Piano Sale

Alumni and other members of the College community are being offered an additional 10% off on the already discounted sale price of new and used pianos at the 7th annual Piano Sale at PC on the weekend of May 26-28. Hosted by the Department of Music in a special agreement with Avery Piano Company of Providence, R.I., the sale will be held in the Smith Center for the Arts.

In addition to purchasers receiving a discount, the College will benefit by receiving a percentage of the net proceeds on Kawai piano sales—which can be applied to the music department’s next purchase of pianos from Avery. Pianos also may be purchased and donated to the music department.

The association among PC, Avery, and Kawai “has provided our students and faculty with quality instruments to complement performance and education programs,” noted Sister Gail P. Himrod, O.P., associate professor of music.

More than 50 new and used pianos by a variety of manufacturers will be for sale in the Smith Center. The manufacturers include Kawai, Steinway, Yamaha, Kohler & Campbell, and Mason & Hamlin. Choices will include grand, professional upright, studio, decorator vertical, and digital pianos, as well as PianoDisc player grands and more.

The pianos will be shown by appointment only on Friday, May 26, and Saturday, May 27. A public sale will be held on Sunday, May 28, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Cash, checks, and credit cards will be accepted. Special bank financing and Kawai no-interest programs can be arranged. Delivery also is available.

“The success of this piano sale ensures the longevity of this program. The College community’s support is greatly appreciated,” said Sister Himrod.
