The Office of Alumni Relations is working diligently to ensure that Reunion Weekend 2008 is a memorable experience for all members of this year’s reunion classes who attend the festivities on May 30 to June 1. Graduates of classes ending in ’3 or ’8 are cordially invited.
The weekend begins on May 30 with check-in and an open house in Martin Hall. Daytime activities will consist of campus trolley tours and a Mass and luncheon for members of the classes of 1938, 1943, 1948, and 1953.
The evening will be highlighted by a series of class dinners and/or receptions and two other socials for all reunion alumni: a “Welcome Back Reception” and a “Mingling at McPhail’s” get-together.
On May 31, in addition to guided campus walking tours, the morning will feature three separate programs in a “Mind, Body, and Spirit” series. There also will be a presentation on how to become involved in the Alumni Career Network.
The remainder of the day will be dominated by all-reunion socials: a “New England Clambake and Country BBQ,” a post-clambake party, and “An Evening under the Stars” dinner-dance. Also planned are the Class of 1958 Golden Anniversary Mass and Pin Blessing, a dedication for the Class of 1963, and a silver anniversary celebration for the Class of 1983.
On June 1, all classes are invited to Mass in St. Dominic Chapel and a brunch.

Classes pinpoint fundraising goals
In conjunction with their upcoming reunions, several classes are raising funds to support special financial and developmental initiatives as a way of continuing their legacy to the College. A synopsis follows:
• The Class of 1953 set a goal of raising $200,000 to support the dedication of the main entrance to the new Concannon Fitness Center in the name of the class.
• Celebrating its golden anniversary, the Class of 1958 has set a goal of $150,000, to be divided equally among the Class of ’58 Fund, support for the Concannon Fitness Center, and the Providence College Fund.
• The Class of 1963 is working toward a long-term goal of raising a $500,000 endowment for the Office of Academic Services. The objective is to reach $450,000—in honor of the class’s 45th anniversary—this year.
• The Class of 1983 has set a goal of $205,000 in honor of its 25th anniversary in support of the Class of ’83 Legacy Scholarship Fund and to make a donation to the Providence College Fund.
