Celebrate friendships, rekindle Friar memories at Reunion Weekend 2007

Graduates from classes ending in ’2 or ’7 are invited back to campus for Reunion Weekend 2007 on Friday-Sunday, June 1-3.

Special celebrations are planned for particular classes, while one of the weekend’s highlights will be “An Evening under the Stars” on Saturday night. This semi-formal event on the terrace of the Smith Center for the Arts and the East Campus quadrangle will feature a cocktail reception, dinner, orchestra music, dancing, and a dessert buffet.

Friday morning’s events will focus on the “Golden Friars” of the classes of ’42M, ’42D, ’47, ’52, and ’57. These alumni first will receive guided trolley tours of the campus. Afterward, a Mass and pin blessing for the newest members of the Golden Friars—the Class of 1957—will be held, along with a luncheon for all of the “golden” grads.

On Friday evening, members of the Class of ’42 are invited to dinner in the Slavin Center. The Class of ’47 will have a dinner in the Harkins Hall rotunda. For the classes of ’52 and ’57, a “Golden Touch” dinner and dance will be held in Slavin Center ’64 Hall. The classes of ’62, ’67, ’72, and ’77 are invited to an informal reception in the Smith Center for the Arts.

For the classes of ’82, ’87, ’92, ’97, and ’02, McPhail’s Entertainment Facility in the Slavin Center will be the place to meet, relax, and renew old acquaintances.

All classes and their families are invited to the Reunion Barbecue on Saturday afternoon on the Slavin Center lawn. They will be able to enjoy music, children’s activities, plenty of food, and more.

Class of ’82 members are invited to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their graduation at the “Silver Anniversary Toast to 25 Years” reception on Saturday night outdoors at Dominic Hall, the campus home of College President Rev. Brian J. Shanley, O.P. ’80.

The weekend will close on Sunday with an alumni memorial Mass in St. Dominic Chapel and a farewell brunch.
