Alumni, students, and benefactors who have displayed exemplary involvement with PC will be recognized at two alumni chapter awards ceremonies this spring. Proceeds from both events will benefit scholarship funds for students with financial need.
On Thursday, April 19, the Greater Providence Chapter of the Providence College Alumni Association, the Mal Brown Club, will host the 2007 Mal Brown Awards Night in the Smith Center for the Arts.
On Thursday, May 3, the 48th annual Veritas Awards Dinner, sponsored by the New Haven Club of the PC Alumni Association, will be held at Anthony’s Ocean View restaurant in New Haven, Conn.
“Funds from these events help students attend PC who, because of financial considerations, might not otherwise be able to attend, even though they qualify academically,” said Richard Del Sesto ’83, assistant director of alumni relations in the Office of Institutional Advancement.
The Mal Brown Awards Night will begin with a cocktail reception from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m., followed by the awards program until 8:00 p.m. and coffee and dessert until 9:00 p.m. Tickets are $40 per person, which includes drinks, hors d'oeuvres, dessert, and coffee.
